Two summers ago, thirty elementary-aged artists gathered on the campus of Charlotte’s Union Presbyterian Seminary for a week-long exploration and celebration of art and scripture. Each summer since, the seminary has, for one week, been bursting at the seams with children engaged in art projects, sketchbooks, conversations about the Bible, and more. Sponsored by the Center for Excellence in Christian Education and underwritten by a grant from the McKay Foundation, each “Art and the Bible Camp” focuses on a different theme, introducing young artists to a wide variety of visual arts genres through individual and community projects.
